9 Ways to Use Aromatherapy Oils for Your Home

Written by

Aromatherapy is a treatment that is based on the utilization of concentrated essences. This is where the phrase “essential oils” derives from. Aromatherapy can be used to treat signs and symptoms of a variety of conditions as well as to improve both emotional and physical well-being. However, did you know that you can also use aromatherapy oils to your home? Below is the list of the common uses of them:

  • Add few drops of aromatherapy oils into a spray bottle with water and use it as an air freshener. Use an essential oil that smells nice, such as lavender and lemon.
  • For making scented fabrics, add a few drops of your chosen aromatherapy oil onto a small piece of terry fabric and toss it into the clothes dryer while drying.
  • To get rid of household cooking odors, place a few drops of Clove oil to a simmering pan and let the simmer spread all over.
  • Add a few drops (10 or more) into a box of baking soda or cornstarch, mix them very well, and then allow it to sit in a place for a day or two. Sprinkle it over the carpets in your house, and vacuum it after two hours.
  • To treat smelly shoes or feet, you can use Geranium aromatherapy oil by adding few drops of it into a cotton ball and dabbing it into the shoes or on feet. You can also use lemon oil in this case.
  • To eliminate mice at home, add several drops of Peppermint oil onto cotton balls and place them at corners where mice are.
  • To get rid of mosquitoes, add few drops of Citronella aromatherapy oil into the melted wax of candle, and then allow it to sit until mosquitoes are diminished.
  • Moths and flies despise lavender aromatherapy oil. Place a few drops of it on the outside of your window frames.
  • Pillows, padded and decorative hangers can be memorable gifts by adding few drops of your favorite aromatherapy oil onto them before giving.
